I assume you use the "!=" to say "not equal to".

The reason you can hit people from a mile away is the serverside hd. The UDP protocol is much smoother than TCP. TCP makes people appear a little bit choppy, while making yourself look choppy to everyone else. On real hd's (you know, clientside hd) TCP is actually considered lame because it makes you slightly harder to hit. When you're using UDP, you appear smoother to everyone and everyone appears smoother to you. I also find that it reduces my ping on UN. If you want to ban something, ban the server's crappy hd. new Graal players have UDP on by default i believe and they wouldn't have a clue what to do about it. I think the UDP option is checked by default nowadays, which means they have TCP on by default. This is because a lot of us have to forward a port to get our UDP working and many people don't know how to do this.

That's what I'm saying jesus christ.
UDP protocol is faster because it doesn't check for errors in the data packs. I learned this in my vocational school.

I never meant that UDP was the exact cause of people getting hit from miles away, there's no doubt that it's a consequence of having a serverside HD, the point is that UDP is capable of drawing you so much further away from the position it is crucial for you to hit, in theory it's good to use but in Classics case it makes matters worse.

UDP = fast, not laggy TCP = slow, laggy I find myself having lower pings with UDP. The reason that you think it helps people hit from far away is because of the way the serverside HD favors smooth low ping to smooth high ping.
