I hate Israel more than you do Yump, but you have to admire their bravery dude.. look at the holocaust and where their country is situated... they have a different religion to everyone around them, plus don't forget Bethlehem (Jesus birth place?) was in Israel too... and yet they still managed to live through all the terrorism by the arabs.
Sure, the UN helped.. and palestine was a British mandate too, and we did try to solve the situation but they revolted and declared Israel independence through physical power.. That is some real bravery right there dude.. you can't deny that.

Dude.. you can't mess with the UK, the military power is one of the best in the world, where the hell are you getting your stats from? their motto is 'Be the best' for a reason dumbass... Is that why you always are on the verge of losing the big wars? I'll say it again, who the **** uses the Navy? The last invasion of Britain happened over 200 years ago. The US Is also surrounded by water on the east and west coasts, but is that why we only have one active battleship? One of the best military forces? Hehe, i could of sworn i read the UK being in the 20's range for their armed forces strength. Oh wait, did i read India at number 3 right below US? It's funnier that you lost it all now anyways and you would get ****ed in the ass if you were to invade a country all by yourself since most of it goes into the Navy. Hey wait, did i not just read UK not even having the best air force in the world? Oh wait, its below India. |

Where the hell do you read about 'military strength'? Do people go and inspect armies from each country and make a tier list?
Dude Iraq had the 4th largest army (men+tanks) when the Gulf War started in the 90s. It took what...less than a month to completely demolish it with a force not even one third of their size? Number's aren't everything man.
Last time I checked, britian invented the verticle take off plan (harrier), which the US borrowed and now incorporates into several planes, such as the JSF.

China might have the largest army, but a) its a bunch of peasants and b) they couldn't move the army anywhere even if they wanted to us it.

When will you realise that the Second World War was under control, and that the USA only came in to the end of it and acted like more of a hero then they actually were? They contributed at the last bit when the Nazis were all but defeated, the real heroes were the Russians who suffered the most losses, besides, the Brits were doing fine without the help of the USA..

You seem to forget how small Britain is, please look on the map and realise that we're a village compared to the rest of the world, yet we affected the world we live in more than any other country in the world since the Roman Empire (apparently Brits are related to them). Let's compare your people with mine:
We have 60million people,
you guys have 1.2 BILLION,
your land mass is 3,287,260 square kilometers (excluding disputed areas)
while ours is 245,000 square kilometres (including Scotland, N. Ireland, Wales and England)
... yet India has achieved pretty much nothing, while looking back... I don't even need to say anything, look you're speaking English.

Ok but kill now you're getting dilusional. World War 2 was far from over when the US joined. The war went on for 2 1/2 more years to the point when we got in. You might have survived the blitz, but that was because hitler was an idiot dividing his forces between the UK/africa/russian fronts. If he had concentrated on the UK...yeah well it would have been over.
By surviving the blitz, the condition in the west was one of stalemate. But don't act like you guys had this thing won. There was no way in hell you could have stopped hitler from your island fortress by yourselves. Our lend lease and convoy system kept you supplied. Russia had the largest numerical impact on the war, since their front was the largest landwise.
Operation torch (invasion of africa) wouldn't have worked w/o US. The italian campaign (suggested by churchhill) also wouldn't have worked. And don't even begin to kid yourself. D-day would sure as not have worked without the US, much less the breakout into france afterwards. BTW operation market garden, suggested by the 'brilliant' british general Montgomery was an epic failure.
I'm not down playing the impact you guys had on the war. But by no means is your statement anywhere near correct. You were stuck on your island after the blitz, and had no real way outside of bombing runs to attack germany.
WWI was a different story. Germany was slowly being bled to death, but it was still a stalemate in the west. France was in just as bad a shape as germany was, and the brits had lost countless numbers of troops. American forces provided the spark in the last offensives of the war that brought everything to a close.

Glad don't get carried away either, the 2 world wars saved the USA from total economic ruins, while if the UK didn't contribute to the downfall of the Nazis - we would've taken over even more of the world, since at the time we still had our empire at full force, but it broke down after the war since we couldn't afford to keep going with having so many mandates... Iraq for example, was costing us much more than it was bringing in due to the poor conditions.
In secret, Hitler promised to let Britain keep its empire and form a sort of "alliance" since he admired how we approached conquering countries in return for our advanced technologies, as long as he had the "go ahead" to take over Europe, but to our wrongful decision (imo) - Churchill declined, but if we had accepted the offer.. what is certain is that the world would've definately been a different place than we live in today.

Technically we were doing fine before ww1 started. We were even making money by selling stuff to both sides.
Obviously our economy before ww2 was in shambles, though it was getting better due to FDR's "New Deal" program. The war obviously turned everything around.
Don't give me this "empire at full force". The british people weren't ready for, nor did they want another world war. WW1 cost them dearly and your government tried to appease hitler early on rather than stand against his swallowing up of former german states.

Also don't get at me with that India hasn't given any great inventions in their time. And numbers are a major factor in determining a military's strength, yes. But I'm sure the military teaches them fine tactics as well. You guys were ****ed over in dunkirk and ran crying back to Britain and went back at the defensive. If goering wasn't a ****ing idiot, you guys would of lost the war and be eliminated.
