When Ibo came in the score was 2-1 and Thor began using that technique with Laura and occasionally Ibo but our team already knew what to do about it, we had a meeting where I told everyone what the tactic was and how to counter it.LOL

About that whole technique thing, me and ibo never got to use it, he was the person it worked with in the first place, i started off defending with trip while laura went forward (ibo didnt want to play), 5 minutes in i went forward alone and scored the first flag of the game with my very first attack, when ibo eventually did join the game to allow me to attack me and Laura were always a minute seperated from eachother, so ofcourse it hasn't gone to plan but given the chance in future i think it will.
I don't want to make excuses for the defeat or talk down Clels teams victory, as it happened me and Trip kept Deophite quiet, we went 1-0 up and very nearly 2-0, but on another day it would have been alot harder for them.
Though that other day probably won't come with Trip 'quitting' and Mystics ban, not sure how to approach the issue, in about 20 minutes time if things stay as they are and we actually bothered with continueing the league it would be me, ibo and gladius vs Rob, if the game isn't played Clels team may have won the most games with yesterdays victory but it takes 2 wins to get points on the board.
Edit: Trip logged on after i posted this so who knows.

EDIT: WAIT WAIT WAIT. Can trials play in ctf?? Clel said yes if the gc sets it to but kill told me gladius got it disabled. Im confused. Ok kill. There's made-up bullpoo like in your complaint. And there's that. I never said that, and anything you claim I said something like that is a misquote.

Though I dislike trials and actually would have pushed for that rule anyways.
However I did nothing to get that rule in place.

Well I got two posts to make, the first being the explaination I owe everyone of what the technique is, the second will be another rant and hopefully it'll be short.
For those of you who know the defensive technique beta formation (one person in front, one behind them to catch the recoil) then what me and Thor are talking about can be considered as the offensive version of that. As you offend you have someone behind you so you can't get pushed back, then just keep moving forward and your'e in. Now while that's the basic idea, Thor added a twist, have the person behind the main offender be the one to grab the flag since they'll have more hearts. It sounds all nice on paper and it does come through sometimes, but there's easy ways of countering it. The beta formation or alpha formation would stand quite a formidable chance against that tactic, or have one person defend normally and the other mess with the guy who's trying to catch the offender's recoil. Throughout the meeting Deophite made an interesting note, to have our offenders attack Thor and Laura to make their hearts low from the get go, and the strat would be broken from there. It's worthwhile but it has it's faults, so if the defense plays it right they can quickly adjust up and counter it as they need to.

Now hilarious news. Trip has quit. Well actually that isn't the hilarious part, it's that Trip's team lost to Kid Oni 6-3. Rufus spilled the beans and it's surprising that I havent seen any breaking news of "OMG TRIP'S TEAM GOT OWNED BY KID ONI'S!!!" cause it's very surprising material. How Rufus explained it was they was winning 4-2 when Trip decided to switch Laura out for Gladius, this pissed Laura off (she already hated Trip for whatever reason). Even with Gladius in they eventually lost 6-3. Now there were some bad calls there by Trip, why wait till the score was 4-2 to make the replacement?! I'm not sure of how they pulled ahead (maybe Trip's team scored 2 goals and then Oni's team scored 4 in a row?) but the moment things went downhill I would've made the swap, atleast while their score was at 3 so it was low enough for a comeback. Second, why would he replace Laura for Gladius?! Makes no sense. Future is a gametype where defense doesnt mean jack squat, his team is overbounded by defenders (Gladius, Ibo, and himself) with Laura and Thor taking the offense. The top two picks for replacement would be Thor and Ibo. Think about it, Thor lags and is familair with using that to move through defenses. In a mode like future where defense is crap Thor would actually be at a disadvantage, since his lag makes him easy to hunt and guarding would be difficult for him. Ibo is like me, at one time both me and Ibo were godly at CTF, but lately everyone else has gotten better while we've stayed the same. I havent had a good game where I felt like I was the Golden CTF Messiah in months, and respectively I havent seen anything spectacular from Ibo as he's been quitting alot of games lately, I will say he's doing alot better in CTF than I have been though. Keeping the Laura/Ibo combo works though as both rock at hunting/guarding, which is what Future is all about. While Laura is an overall great player, like Shimmy she'll do well if you keep her happy, and she'll screw you over if you don't - This is why there was time I would pick Laura alot cause she was good but now I stray from her picking her. I like to play with underdog teams, she merely wants to win and gain tickets, so there's no point in me picking her if she's just going to leave since she doesn't believe a team with a couple of "newbs" could ever stand a chance.
Despite all that, Laura/Ibo with Trip/Glad was the best bet... but even though probably couldn't get them the comeback they were hoping for. The second thing was that Trip quit, yep it's official. He requested that he'd be banned for whatever reason and now he's long gone. He said he would have to quit sooner or later, and he's probably happy to put Graal behind him after those two loses. However now Gladius is in control, and as much as I'd like to dig into his immediate changes to the league I've used enough time on this post...

Keeping it short and sweet like Clel.. ..it's surprising that I havent seen any breaking news of "OMG TRIP'S TEAM GOT OWNED BY KID ONI'S!!!" cause it's very surprising material. At first when it was kind of like they expected it and I was kind of disappointed but after thinking about it, it actually didn't surprise me at all because the same thing happened last week too. Currently the emphasis has been on how well the 'top tier' teams have played, how much they have owned, and how little effort it took. We got a long post from Clel when his team beat Trip's last Saturday and that was it, which I was pretty surprised about because I think that game was probably due a bit more credit than that really. I think most people expected the outcome of that game to be in favor of Clel anyway, even if it was as anticipated as people made it out to be. It's pretty hilarious that a team which are describing themselves as a "powerhouse" boast about winning when they do win and act completely arrogant about it for example, in page 8 of this thread, yet we're getting minimalist coverage when they in actual fact lose a game. I'm not just talking about the amount of forum posts and threads that have been made though. Looking back at the mass messages the GC's have produced over the last couple of weeks, I'm pretty disappointed in what we received in our victory. For those that didn't see the mass message, here's what Gladius wrote (I've fixed it up prose style so it doesn't take up half the page with spacing): Disregarding the fact that Gladius can't seem to structure an actual sentence, the content is just half-assed compared to when Trip's team has won. The mass seems to be trying to make out as though Trip's team played well, which they didn't at all. Even though the other games were glorified, this one was not and it probably deserved a lot more credit saying as Oni's Team are the 'underdogs' of the tournament and all. While I feel as though this is probably just down to Gladius and it's not as though it's something new, it did piss me off. I really enjoyed the actual game and I'm really happy with our team, because we worked well as a team in that game. I think everyone on our team scored at least one flag, and the offense/defense combination was steady even though we made no plans prior to the game at all. If I had to name an "MVP" I probably couldn't, because everyone played their part; Yump and Mighty did pretty well in making sure there was always someone hanging around Trip's base though, I was pretty impressed with that. The part of Gladius' mass that said, "but team trip never gave up and never game in" did make me laugh, simply because it wasn't true at all. Ibonic although he did continue to play, gave up half way through, and there was quite a lot of times when he just stood there. Thor resorted to the most pitiful and ineffective tactic I've seen (LOL let's block their team with bombs when they spawn and lame from the side!!) which seemed to work in, uhh, making the game seem more like a 3v3 when he did it? Due to the amount of "defenders" playing, there wasn't enough people trying to score and when they did, it just wasn't working. I was pretty surprised by the decision to remove Laura too, because she was actually a good asset to their team, but she got replaced. Oh well. I think the main issue was probably the fact that Trip was on the verge of leaving, and we were underestimated as a team. I usually hate Future but as stated earlier really enjoyed that game. Good job Team Oni.
