well not hosting cause there's not enough players is another problem in itself.
GC doesn't want to host cause there's not enough players There's not enough players cause the GC won't host.
Maybe it'd be worth getting some 2 person events that are really fun so more people would want to jump in on the action.

Fail.
That point is invalid.
The players shouldn't log/on off when the GCs are on/off, they should stick around or get on when they find time to do so.
The GCs can't host if the players aren't online. Plain and simple. You cannot blame the 1 person for the majority of the people.
If the ppl are online, the GCs that are online will host. If the ppl are not online, the GCs that are online will log off.
If the people log on and expect there to always be a GC on hosting their favorite event, then they need to get a wake up call from reality.
If you want constant events, go to era.

Also clel, two person events are lame b/c there is a horrible female : male ratio on classic.

How is it invalid? There is plainly nothing to do on Classic except play the events that seem to be better than any server. I'd rather not play era events since 80 percent of them require you to have a good gun/speed to win. I'd like to see some scheduled events so players actually log on when they know something good is about to happen. You always try to find an excuse not to host Gladius. And that is why Classic isn't even in great shape. If you cant find a decent amount for a good event, make one on your own that can be flexible to any amount of players.

Yeah I just love hosting drunken stupor.
The job of a GC is to host quality events. And quality events have 6-8 active people at least.
You act like GCs never host mystic. If i'm online and theres a quality active playercount, i'll host. If not, I'll play ncaa 09.

Flexible Events for Flexible Amounts Gladius.
Yes the job of a GC should be to host quality events. But those quality events should line in with the new players. I think kid oni hosted a SWAT and a CTF with 4-6 noobs and i couldnt believe how fun they found it and even enjoyed the event when they lost and made pretty good games.
The GC's do host, but just not enough due to being only 3-4 gc's, 2 of which only host on a basis.

Fail. That point is invalid. The players shouldn't log/on off when the GCs are on/off, they should stick around or get on when they find time to do so. there's nothing else to do on classic besides chat, spar, play events... so GCs are 1/3 of the reason to jump on classic or atleast stay on. Unless there's activity in Exo's Spar which is rare, or some amazing discussion/argument going on which is again rare then GCs are really the only reason to stay on Classic. I'd like to see some scheduled events so players actually log on when they know something good is about to happen. I'm not all that for scheduled events... but I'm open to the idea, the monthly had good turnouts. The job of a GC is to host quality events. And quality events have 6-8 active people at least. I agree, now days nearly all of the quality events are 6-8 person 4v4 events that deal with slashing, but 3-4 player non-action events like Drunken Stupors, Brazillion Questions, Musical Chairs, Connect 4, Make Your Luck, Rap Battle, Pictionary, and I'm sure there's some I'm forgetting, but those were commonly hosted at one time and considered quality. Before I joined GC those events were so common-place that a GC would jump on tag and I wouldnt even care cause most likely it wasn't a pk or sparring event. CTF, Sumo, Waiting Room Wars, Allstar, and some kind of LMS are likely the only events you'll ever see hosted now, and the crowd that was here for the non-action events had to hit the road cause the old GCs who hosted those are gone. I suggest us GCs should rethink our strategy on which events we pitch out to the players.

Lets run down which events Glad and Oni hosted last night...
Infection...ticket guessing...snowflake sumo...ticket race...tried BG + Kom but scripts are messed up...ctf sumo...sheesh I know we hosted more than this...
Hosted pot race a while back. Tried to host ticket fishing but script is messed up. Fortbuilder earlier yesterday. Hosted soccer a few days ago. Also hosted a new event called the Matrix which was a smashing success.
So its not like we're just hosting mainstream events. Also I hosted Weakest Link LMS. Oni hosted a c4 tourney too.
Druken stupor, BQ, musical chairs, rap battle, pictionary....SNORE.

The Gc tools allows for more creative events. Make something up thats interesting.
@ Clel those were the only events ever hosted last year and classic used to rack up 20-30+

Tried to host ticket fishing but script is messed up. Fortbuilder earlier yesterday. Hosted soccer a few days ago. Also hosted a new event called the Matrix which was a smashing success. The problem isn't variety in events but even so Infection, Fort Builder, Battlegrounds/Kom, and Soccor don't stray very far from the 4v4 6-8 action events and LMSes. I know nothing of ticket guessing, ticket race, or ticket fishing so I can't really speak on those, but even I doubt they're pk/spar events. Pot Race is a good example and never heard of Matrix, would like to hear more about it. The factor of Drunken Stupor, BQ, Musical Chairs, Rap Battle, and Pictionary boring you is something many GCs have in common, therefore those events get hosted very little or not at all. That's the problem here. @ Clel those were the only events ever hosted last year and classic used to rack up 20-30+ I'm talking about three years ago when Classic used to rack up 40-50+ players.

When we used to host anything off the path (aka anything not CTF, sumo, lms) people would bitch and demand ctf sumo.
