Exos > Supernicks b/c A) no laming at exos, unlike super and B) only 2 at a time
Better to be forced so people can get their hp up to par with everyone else, giving them a better chance to compete.
More events for who? The people that currently don't play?
These suggestions are nice, but they won't keep people on classic. Events can only do so much, as we've seen.

Remade Supernicks, to be specific.
Not many have the patience to do all that. UN's noob guide and quests are optional.
More events so MORE people can be attracted
Classic hangs upon the GC team currently since the dev team is at a slow pace.

True it could stand an update.
If they don't have the patience to do our simple quests to gain enough HP to be competitive then there is really no reason for them to be on our server. Perhaps with the tule village there needs to be a way for the server to differentiate between noobs from other servers and actual noobs to the game. Or maybe it can just ask "have you played graal before? Type "yes" to skip the instructions" or something.
Obviously but the fact is people aren't going to stay online if events aren't being hosted. Thus something needs to vill the void. But change takes time, especially a quality work.

- Remaking an old spar will not make the slightest bit of difference when trying to get and keep players online. Sure it should probably be the primary spar, that's been said for quite a while now, but it's a spar arena.
- Tule isn't a big problem now. You go straight up north, answer a few questions, cool. What is a problem is that you're shoved straight into a series of linear quests that you have to go through in order to get to where players should be. Unfortunately it's no longer worth doing them as when you reach that destination there's no one there LOL!!
- Events are not keeping the server 'alive' anymore. You guys were begging people to log on so that the monthly could even be hosted. The server was slowly declining even back when I was GC and we struggled to host some times then. Now you've got to ask players to come on so you can host? It's not working.
What else?

Classic needs (if we ever got back to the point where this occurs) a reward system for guilds when/if they war each other. Right now it's basically "all your people were dead or paused for half a second so we win!" or "our guys were able to stay up till 2 am and yours had to log off so we win!" or other shallow excuses for a victory condition.
Guilds need to be able to war over different areas other than forts (cities, buildings, etc.) that actually have a way to win (timer, # points, etc.) and a reward for doing so. A decent idea would be to make a fairly large gmaped area that could be used for guild wars, where both sides would fight 10 minutes battles over the 5 different key locations. The guild that won 3 or more battles would win the guildwar and get their just desserts.

Well i think a centralized spar location would be more convenient than a spar location way out in the desert -- if you catch my metaphor. Supernicks could be remade with all the spar areas being scripted to function like a real spar. Would it be a good improvement? Yes. Would people complain? Why yes. But that's only the old players who log on the server once every 6 months, and generally not the type of people that Classic should attract. (Under the assumption that these old players actually are older and busier irl). So many people want to preserve a server they don't care for anymore, that it's actually worsening the servers condition.
I never liked having to walk through tule. It would be okay if there was a more convenient starting place having a warp to tule village if you wanted to know the basics of the game. The forced graal castle quest is a turnoff though since you can't get to where everybody else is without beating that. Sorry Gladius, but people don't have that much patience and surely don't have that much patience to quest for 1+ hours just to chat with a friend in graal city.
The monthly was a moment of desperation. Yes it was. But that was more of the fact that the person who usually organizes it never came on, and never gave notice to any of us, and the pure fact Classic's activity has been the worst of all time. In 2006-2007 (When i actually payed attention to classic), it wasn't that hard to get people in events, since there were continuously 25+ people on. Something that would be a huge surprise if we had that playercount now. Events are the only source of enjoyment this server has. That and sparring, but most people don't know where the spar center is (o i wonder y). But events are even hard to pull off now mainly because some GC's, including myself a bit, have overhosted ctf so much to the point where that's the only event people will join. And when we don't host it, and host something else, they will log off.

Not that anyone would care, but the Hammer itself now deals 0.5 damage again so I've made my broken-hammer unbroken...
My version of the hammer deals 1.5 + can combo if you're good enough to land it, however missing with the hammer leaves you open for a possible free hit.
I've also completely finished up my version of the Knife of Fiends.... there's a basic "sword" hitbox that appears right in front of you when you use it (so it's like pressing S + using Knife of Fiend at the same time), the sword hit can knock the opponent into the knives which will then send them back. You get out of the KoF animation so fast that you can hit them again as they're flying =) fun stuff.
Don't worry these are just pointless creations though.

Well last time I checked you could warp to exos pretty quickly, and you can't warp to supernicks anymore. Thus it can be reasoned that actually exos is faster after going there once. True, the location is a bit out of the way for anyone new. Noobs are probably confused to where anything is on classic, but it's like that way on most servers. Some have a sign above their spars/pk places and stuff, but unless you know where you are going it can be a similar situation to that on classic.
If they want to chat with someone, they can pm them. If they actually are thinking about the server, they need to do the quests. If they are just here to chat, then why bother trying to get them to stay by changing it. Either they are going to do it (and then stay or not) or not do it at all.
Yes ctf was overhosted, but the people aren't completely foolish. CTF is by far the best event because it has a lot of different apsects: teamwork, recognition for achievements, use of all your graal skills, and most importantly of all it's usually fun. I'm sure there are other things I didn't mention but you get the point. The casual NBA fan wants to watch the Lakers, Celtics, and Cavaliers. They don't want to watch the Thunder, Kings, and Grizzlies. It's nice to get some variety, but you also want quality. CTF is in the top tier of quality events, and few others come close.

lawls genius, I just made it so the hammer strikes twice when you use it to make up for the time you're vurnerable, you can also change the direction the second strike hits so you may be able to defend yourself, may not be =)

Most Servers have their spar location in the main city.....At a very convenient location. In fact, both NP and UN have their spar arenas in the same town as their starting place. Good argument there, Gladius. Also, Supernicks used to have a warp. It wasn't a useful warp so it was removed in this whole "warp ring cleanup". Exos was so there you go as to why Exos warp still stays. My suggestion was to make supernicks useful since it's in the same town as to where everybody hangs around, gets warped to after events, etc.
I like talking via playerchat. It's a pretty sloppy argument to debate in favor of forced questing because you just look like a fool doing that. The purpose of this game was to socialize hence the type "MMO". If they want to quest, then so be it. Don't necessarily make them quest because that's a turnoff being to the server. I can't reconcile how many people just don't feel like doing the 1+ hour work just to go to the place everybody is at.
CTF is the most enjoyed event, but i won't call it the "best", because now I'm just getting sick of that event being hosted so much. It has severable notable factors to it, but now with the clientside, the laggers, even semi-laggers, now dominate this event and I cannot see to enjoy it much anymore. Too many people depend on that event that they don't even give other events a chance now. I remember thedae calling gemini on because Gemini thought i was hosting CTF. I wasn't so gemini logged off. It's things like this where this server falls into low clutch in events. That isn't necessarily the debate but there are certainly much other events, which can be enjoyable as well such as fortbuilder, pit, various forms of sumo/snowflake....I can agree that these events aren't all too fun because of the low variety of alliances, and having only one/two dominant alliances. Before that, there used to be many people, not of the same alliance clashing at each other. Now in most events you have 6 US vs 1 ventrue, 1 rommiel, and 1 of neither. Form an alliance you might suggest, but that doesn't pass up now on a very brittle server.
Also, to your "NBA debate": Is that why every game has millions of viewers every night? Is that also why they don't play 10 games at once, rather just 2 to make all teams recognized? I enjoy seeing any NBA game because they all have notable players, etc. I don't know why you're making the reference of a dead server event, to a widely viewed fan game....

Not sure why you're trying to turn this into some kind of argument since I was just bouncing ideas off your statements. Also not sure why I try to put an E after the U in argument. Crap did it there too.
Do they have the words "SPAR HERE" above them? Obviously anyone can walk around and read signs if not, so people shouldn't be complaining on classic. BTW I already stated you can't warp to supernicks anymore so thanks for including two sentances about it. It's not that supernicks isn't useful because you can still spar there (hell I host my Enter the Dino Tournament there); but exos is simply better for sparring. The whole argument of "well exo's isn't in the main city" is pretty foolish though. You walk there once (tis not like it's in Babord) and then you can instantly warp there, thus being a lot faster than walking to supernicks. I'll include a math formula in the next post if you continue to ignore the facts.
No where did I ever mention "forced questing". All I said was if a person really wanted to be on the server, they would do the quest. If they're just here to talk, then obviously they have no reason to stay on the server afterwards. If they did the quest, they might be inspired, however unlikely, to stick around and see what the server has to offer.
CTF is the best event based on the factors previously noted. Obviously the game itself is pretty pure, but many players have abused the rules/connection/etc. to try and gain an edge. Other events are fun as well (such as those you mentioned) but they aren't without their flaws either. Correct me if I'm wrong, but has anyone tried to make a Fortbuilder League before?
...so tell me mystic. Why do they always schedule quality matchups on xmas day, such as Suns vs Spurs or Lakers vs Celtics? Why don't they have the Kings vs Thunder? Wouldn't that draw the same number of people? Oh wait, it wouldn't. The point is, more people are going to watch a quality matchup rather than a subpar one. And if you don't get it yet, people are going to request CTF rather than a horse race. I'm not saying the horse race wouldn't be fun or exciting. But the quality matchup/CTF is much sexier in the eyes of the viewer/player and thus more popular.

i dont know if someone already posted that (i dont have time to read huge ass paragraphs)
but why the fuk would you give the newb 2 hp so they can be equal to his/her opponent? go do the fuking quest then. that not that hard to lose 30 minutes of your life to get 2 hp

In LMS events or spars, noobs are usually given the extra HP to put them on "equal ground" as everyone else as to make sure they have the same statistical chance to win. Thus if everyone has the same hp, it can be reasoned that the person with the best skills, luck, and/or alliance(s) will win.
Should they do the quests? Definitely, if they plan to stay. If they don't, well then I guess we're used to that by now.

The spar is relatively close to where everyone hangs out, making it useful and easier to find. It's at a more convenient spot if supernicks were to be remade with sparring scripts. NO need to debate this because it would be foolish to defend the argument of a spar arena being better off in an unknown area.
If you want to play a server, you are not immediately obliged to do these quests. Obviously that isn't the case since some people want to just chill on classic without wasting an hour having to do all the boring quest junk. Again, why are you defending the fact of having to go through tule village, and the graal castle quest to even gain access to graal city?
I don't know what you are rambling on about, but my point was that the people depend on CTF too much because they haven't been exposed to better events early on. But CTF is even hard to get people for these days. YES, I KNOW CTF IS THE BEST EVENT CLASSIC HAS TO OFFER AT THE MOMENT. That is a known fact. Obviously you haven't gotten my previous post's point of the overhosting of CTF making it more dependent. Maybe if GC's like Gemini actually host something other than CTF, would we of had more variety in events. You yourself admitted hosting CTF constantly isn't a good thing for Classic, and now you're defending it. Boy you sure are defending a lot of outrageous standpoints.
Umm....Gladius....any NBA game gets millions of viewers per game. That is a whole lot to satisfy any NBA Game. To even compare it to Classic is foolish. I think i would know that people do actually watch each and every NBA game. That and the fact that each team has it's hometown who would definately watch their teams game. I know i would watch the Detroit Pistons games. Please tell me how you outrageously applied this to graal. CTF is a more popular event. Whooptydoo. Point being? My point is that no one even joins the other events now just because of that. Last time i checked, each and every team does get tons of viewers. Please notify me when an NBA Game doesnt get less than millions of people viewing it in the arena, or on TV
