Happy Black History Month!
Take the time to think about the prosperous beliefs of MLK, Rosa Parks, Malcom X, nelson mendela, Michael Jordan, Steven Bico, etc.....

Yes, but I don't recall signing up for a class about Black History Month.
So no, we don't get taught much about it. At least I never was. Sure they mentioned some historical figures and such, but they never took time out of the day to make sure we honored them or anything.

So people have a choice in school to learn this or is it compulsory?

Um...I mean theres not much they can teach about it. Each day they might bring up a person and say a few contributions they made, but it's not like we take the entire month off of our other classes and only learn about black history.
