Glad uses Z style, he waits, waits and waits until you attack, slashes, runs back and then slashes forward.
So while being pissed and attacking, he keeps slashing -- presses back -- slashes again.

Well nothing new with the CTF League so far to rant about, and it's ridiculously close to the captain due date so I hope Trip's doing good with that. Most likely if I need to I'll cap. One thing that's big in question at the moment is the Public CTF, which was in service at one time (CTF Small was public in Graal Castle or something funny like that), now it seems nearly impossible but alas I have a solution!! First, I know this isnt the right thread but it IS a rant and it does have to do with the CTF League, even if it's very little. Second, this post will probably rant on about stuff other then making CTF public if I get the chance. So with that out of the way public CTF could work and it could be very simple. 4 people talk trash about how their the best at CTF, four other people pull some "nuh huhs" and they all warp to the GC Studios. It'll likely be one of Thor's arcade thingies, but when they step into the CTF Entrance room (I'll call it the queue room from this point) it'll be very much like the CTF Entrance used when GCs host it cept there's nothing separating the players between the colored tiling declaring which team. So players can simply walk in, step on the color team they want, and get to kicking eachother's tail! One thing I wouldnt want is the ability to choose modes, there should be some generic, all new mode specifically for public, having small tastes of each already made modes. The main reason why I want this is to stop fights between which mode "WTF I WANT INDOORS OMFG YOU'RE AN IDIOT NEWB!!!", with it being one mode there'll be no complaints, Public CTF is Public CTF, no more no less. The map would be like combining CTF Large and Sumo - the bases and map are shaped like Large, but if you fall in water you're warped back to base. Now the whole sumo water warp thing won't be all that threatening for the most part, cause the arena is so big getting knocked into the water is rare but if you're not careful it's possible. But some areas definitely need to be more risky then others as far as this goes, and the map design has to be crafted to support the risk/reward theory (if Night or Thor is up for it and CTF Public will FOR SURE be a reality, I'll design the map if they want). The final thing to cover is probably what everyone was wondering about, what happens when someone leaves?!?! Well that's simple, when a player leaves just have someone from the other team be kicked to even things up without freezing the game. Now there's multiple ways to go about this, when a person from the Blue Team quits a voting thing (much like the current vote stuff with the GC Tool) pops up on the Red Team's screen, it only lasts ten seconds and the Red Team votes someone off their team. If there's a tie the system removes the person who last stepped into the colored tiling in the beginning of the game. There's a second theory where the system just removes the last person to join the team automatically, which sorta allows everyone to know who would be removed just in case someone were to quit. The final one I came up with was to have the first person to die on the Red Team after the Blue player quit would be removed, but that would lead to a bunch of people trying to survive and stay in, it'd rock though. While a player being randomly removed wouldnt be my favorite it would also work aswell. Also just to add on to this rant I have to say there's a couple of things that are UN-NEEDED. In CTF there's something that prevents you from setting your nick once you've entered the game, and that SUCKS!!! It definitely should be removed. Yes I know the main purpose of getting rid of that was to stop people from doing the "setnick" while they're losing to quit, but people still quit anyway with "reconnect me" instead. Why is it so important to be able to say "setnick" while in the CTF Systems? So I can change my nick to something goofy after I've been summoned to the level , nah but so if Night's hosting CTF and he pulls his daily disconnect someone with awesome GC powers can get on their Game Coordinator tag, replace themselves with some guy who's begging to get in, and continue the game all nice and fluid. Instead we have to RECONNECT ME first to get out of the level, then tag up all bad and unfluid-like... well ok it's pretty pointless =( The second thing is the darn timers, yes I hate the timer on CTF. I know the event was seriously overhosted at one time but it's FAR FAR away from that era. A timer was bullcrap to begin with, it's nice to be able to moniter when the last CTF was hosted, but why not leave the decision to host it or not up to the GC? Why not instead moniter how often CTF's hosted and which GC hosts it, so if it ever becomes a problem you could point out to that specific GC that overhosting it's a problem. Speaking of CTF Timers I forgot to mention that you can host CTF Fusion, during the match say "/home all" change the game map and then... oh yeah nevermind the game would still be in process I think, well good luck with trying to get that CTF Fusion rollin.

Maybe we should have a counter that counts how many times a GC hosts ctf in one day. No more than either once or twice per GC, will have to vote on that. Yes I would like to be able to set my nickname during ctf. Whenever I'm in the entrance and want to change it from Gladius to Prehistoric Powerhouse or G-Fence, it won't let me Also like clel said, if the GC was playing and something happened, we have to either let ibo tag us or reconnect, tag up, warp back, then stop the game some 20 seconds later. If people want to leave, they can do it w/o using setnick anyways. Public CTF is bad. If we give the public a way to lose their dependancy on our events, they might start to respect the GC team even less! And if the GCs are unhappy that people don't respect them, they wont host events, and then there is truly nothing left on this server to keep people around.

Great post Clel, absolutely spot on. Kudos to you. CTF Public SHOULD be put in place, EVERYONE is always bored and idling watching poPcORN... So, with that said -- it would solve the decreasing playercount problem as CTF is the most popular event on the server, plus us GC's get tired of hosting it all the bloody time! we want to play it too... E.g. me vs Glad, one of us always has to host it so we never get to play eachother. Clel pointed 2 very crucial things with all this, players leaving - well he just solved the problem! another player would be kicked! & the Gametype - it would be a NEW map! what a great idea, this would solve the "NO I WANT SUMO, **** U NOOB I WANT LARGE!!!1" The public CTF may be the solution to when you ask for requests everyone PM's you "CTF!!" "ctf" "Ctf" <-- notice how I said it differently each time, well that means EVERYONE asks for CTF with the odd "GC fort" from Thor but anyways -- this would be our answer to "GET STUFFED WITH ALL THE CTF'S YOU WANT NOW NOOBS!!!!" Nah but seriously, atleast give it a try... Public CTF would own!

And if the GCs are unhappy that people don't respect them, they wont host events, and then there is truly nothing left on this server to keep people around. I see what you mean, and I did consider that but realized having the players depend on us is what makes the server bad in the first place. Players demand fun, and they can only get "the highest level" of fun through GC events. Which forces the server to depend on GCs which isn't a good thing once the GCs gets burned out on hosting, or random newb pisses a GC to the point where they're not hosting anymore, or when GC makes a mistake and gets their staff tag removed, ect. ect. Depending on GCs to do everything isnt good, and if CTF is so good of an event that it becoming public would make GC's useless then server activity that would grow in result would be far better then me being useful on GC tag. People begging GCs to host could probably stop cause the players could help themselves, or even better - CTF will get played out asap and no one will desire it as much, therefore GCs simply won't overhost it.

Clel seriously summarize your points.
Anyways i dont know why public ctf is bad if none of the gcs ever want to host or even events in general...

It's not that we don't want to host.
It's that we don't want to host for players that don't stfu during and after events when they lose/get voted/die. Know anyone like that mystic?

BTW Keep watching in the NEWS Updates
2 caps so far. might just use 3 if i have to, word is Oni might Captain
As i Mentioned to mystic heres a little something extra: Managers Rights : 1.Lead their team 2.Gain ownership of 1-4 (possibly 1-3) ONLY teams allowed to be used in tourney. This is like gaining stock in CTF. You can sell your Team for profit if u like. 3. You will be part of Date/Scheduling votes. 4. Next Season there will be a "Draft" of 4 players that arent currently on a team...lowest ranked team at end of season has FIRST pick.

Clel seriously summarize your points. I don't summarize stuff that's not simple just to make sure anyone can read it without having to ask me what I meant at certain parts.

Well I'm officially a captain now (just sent Trip the 30 ticket fee) and then I made my first recruit. I got Deophite and paid him 5 tickets (I don't think he even cared about tickets but did it anyway). Despite how bluntly stupid it would be to post my plans in public view -giving Trip, Mystic, and Kid Oni the chance to ruin them- I'll state that I'ma shoot for Night.
