Sup. What's wrong with having one of the greatest people of all time as my grandfather? I'd be honored if that.

LoL @ "one of the greatest people of all time".
For one country in need, ya he was pretty monumental for however long he was involved.
But please. One of the greatest of all time? Common.
He helped a country, not the world.
Alexander the Great, Napoleon, the founding fathers of America, William the Conqueror, Hitler, Stalin, Caesar + Augustus, etc.
These people had a long lasting effect on the world, not just one country.
Was he important? Yes. Was he one of the greatest of all time? No.

Oh geez, another debate from Gladius. *Sigh* here we go.....
Ok Gladius, from your aspect, can you also say MLK wasn't one of the greatest people of all time. Just because you don't impact the world doesn't constitute you not as one of the greatest people of all time. He was one of the most influential and a looked upon figure. He also pretty much impacted India entirely with his independence protest (Yes Kill, he was leading it up until independence was achieved) and considered the "father of their nation"
And LMAO at trying to use dictators, communists, etc. as people who could potentially be one of the greatest men of all time. Do you even know what constitutes one?
Get your facts straight noob.

LoL india is a wreck to this day so his achievements didn't go far.
Look dude. MLK vastly changed our country by getting all races the right to vote. Does that make him one of the greatest of all time? Nope.
Stalin changed the world forever dude. He took a peasant country, saw them through a world war, and turned them into a global super power rivaled only by the US. He began the arms race between the two sides that continued for decades, and spread communism to dozens of countries where it still continues in some places to this day. I'd say a legacy of 50+ years of influece counts as one of the greatest people of all time? Still don't believe me? The AK-47, arguably the weapon with the most kills in history, was developed in his reign and spread to dozens of countries across the world, where they still reek havoc to this day.
That's just one of the dudes. I could go on about each, and many, many more that I didn't mention. Bill Gates/Steve Jobs easily qualify since they had major roles in inventing/marketing the personal computer. If that doesn't have long reaching effects then I don't know what does.
But Gandhi's impact is far less reaching than the folks I mentioned. Sorry to break your heart.

Glad you forgot King Alfred the Great, Shakespeare, Sir Isaac Newton, Tim Berners-Lee (created the World Wide Web), Queen Elizabeth || etc and many more! + They all come from the same country, I wonder where that is...

LoL india is a wreck to this day so his achievements didn't go far. Better than a lot of countries. He did more then that. And he has a day named after him in the American Calender. That says he achieved a lot constituting him as one of the most influential people of all time. Same applies for Gandhi. Why the hell do you get so entangled with war figures? Communists and dictators hardly constitute as anything related to a great person ever. In fact, you don't have to be some war hero. And Gandhi was fighting a war on independence if you want to get technical. So you have to be qualified in War or technology development to be considered one of the greatest people? Ask any modern human about Gandhi. Would they know about him? Hell yes. Why? Because he did so much with his mind rather than violence. Gandhi is a influential figure for anybody who wants to do something they believe in without having to get into physical confrontation. I think Gandhi's achievements were far greater than a person who had to fight a war for it. You're being ignorant LMAO. I'll let you grasp in the amount of fail you just said. Gandhi is one of the most influential people of all time who fought for something he was determined to get. He will ALWAYS be remembered in history far and wide. I even believe Time magazine named him one of the greatest people of all time.

Please. Are you going to trust Time Magazine or the dinosaur from the Land before Time?
But seriously, you're just on his bangwagon cause he's from your country.
India is in poo condition with a horrible life expectancy, horrible quality of life for it's lower class (which is pretty large), and slow-to-act government.
LOL way to completely ignore my point again. Just because he's a "war figure" doesn't mean he has any less credibility. My point was stalin's effects were far more outreaching than gandhi's. Besides, if you [u[really[/u] want to get technical, gandhi really wasn't fighting at all now was he LOL owned.
No, like I said several times. Those were just some examples foo. As great as you say gandhi was, his influence is limited. Very few people use "non violent protest" with much success, especially not in something as big as independence. Americans had the right to demonstrate for a long time before gandhi came around as well. It's not like he was the first person to ever think of it.
Please. The only reason he'll be remembered is because he was the first to ever win independence without a fight. Grats to him, but he's not one of the greatest people ever. If he truly was, he'd still be affecting the world. However, most of us seem to ignore his lessons and his methods. I wouldn't call that influential.
